July was a blur. Jon did an obscene amount of studying for a little test called the bar. And the girls and I did an awful lot of packing and cleaning to get ready for our move. The last week of July was probably the worst few days of my life and I am positive it was Jon's. Jon took the bar Tuesday and Wednesday and then we packed the moving truck Thursday and Friday. Luckily we had Jon's twin brothers and his parents to help us. I am positive we could not have done it without them. Grace would hardly let me put her down for those two days, so Jon's mom basically cleaned my whole house for me. And the rest loaded the truck...which was quite a task. I am pretty sure it was comparable to the hardest tetris game ever. Not all of our stuff fit in the truck so a few things got tossed or given to friends. Luckily our storage unit was bigger than our truck and it wasn't such a spatial relations nightmare.
We stayed the night in Mesa and then Saturday we drove up and unloaded our stuff in a storage unit(with help from the twins and Jon's dad it didn't take too long). But it was still the longest day of our lives because after a 2 hour drive a few hours in the hot sun, we had to drive 8 more to Utah. 45 minutes into our drive, Grace had the worst blow out. Can I just say that a blow out on a road trip is one of the worst things? Carseat, clothes, and baby needed cleaning. I cleaned it up, bathed her in hand sanitizer, and not being able to reach her suitcase without unloading the entire trunk, she completed the trip as a white trash baby in just a diaper. Poor girl. Our check engine light went on, and the girls didn't sleep great, but by 1am we were safely at my parents.
We rested and cleaned ourselves up for a day, and then Monday afternoon took off again to our cabin outside of Yellowstone park for a family reunion with my family. It makes me tired just writing all this and reliving it. Luckily the mountains of Montana are one of the most relaxing rejuvenating places I know.
We had a wonderful time there with my family. We hiked, fished, rode the 4 wheeler, cooked yummy food, played games, watched funny movies my brothers made, saw old faithful, and so many other things. I love my family they the best. Here is a smorasborg of pictures of our wonderful reunion...stolen from other photographers of course.
Beauty Lake, it was beautiful for sure, but what you can't see in the picture is the ravenous mosquitoes that were feasting upon our blood.

Grace is changing so fast right now. She basically repeats most words we say and is walking as a mode of transportation rather than a trick. Some of my favorite words she said this week were, "ma-roni" (macaroni), "let's go", "chichie" for (Richy), "my daddy".
We are currently in Utah taking a break before we have to drive to Arizona and find ourselves a house and start real life. Wish us luck.

You had me with "ma-roni"-I thought you were going to say Moroni and that you had the smartest (and most spiritual) baby in the world!
Bummer about the crazy week, on a brighter note, you used excellent descriptions of everything and I felt like I was there :) Freelance writing in your future?
Sounds like you are in a good spot hanging out with family in UT! Having a home is overrated anyway.
It was so fun to be in Montana together!! Have a great rest in Utah! Are you still going to CA?
Love you!
Congrats on finishing the bar and wrapping up school and a big move! It sounds like August is a great start to something better! And BTW, apparently we are fully immersed in being white trash b/c I don't even hesitate to let my boys (still!) hang out in their diapers.
I'm exhausted just reading about your last week in July! Luckily weeks like those finally end eventually!
That is crazy mar-I am sad I completely spaced your email-with law school starting my mind was a little preoccupied-and didn't get to see you while you were here. I am sorry I completely forgot. I hope everything is going better and that you are starting to feel settled.
