Happy 4th of July!
This morning as I was making blueberry french toast with a raspberry syrup, I reminded Addie that it was the 4th of July. I asked her if she knew why we celebrated today. Without hesitation she replied, "because of Jesus". "Well, I guess kind of..." then I proceeded to tie that into declaring independence from England and fighting the Revolutionary War...freedom in general and including freedom of religion. After my lengthy talk I said, "So, why do we celebrate the 4th of July Addie?" She again responded, "because of Jesus". Good enough....I guess I should have just said it was America's Birthday.

hahahahaha!....that's awesome. i mean, technically she's right since we owe all great things to him...so maybe in her answer she's just showing you how much wiser she is than the rest of us? lol.
At least she has the essentials ingrained in her!
P.S.--I wish I had been there for your yummy breakfast!
