Hooray for Veterans and their day yesterday! Jon had the day off school, so we went hiking to celebrate. We took a tour on a tram and Addie was in heaven because she thought it was a bus...she is obsessed. I learned some interesting things about the desert. Did you know a Saguaro cactus can weigh up to 8 tons?
There was a "beach" that the kids loved playing at. It is really where the river is when it is flowing, but it is currently dry.

Addie isn't the best hiker. She tires out real fast. This is where she spent most of her time. 
It was the prettiest part of the desert that I have seen yet. And we had a great time spending time with our busy Jon.

So fun! I have actually never been there but that is no surprise since I have lived in Arizona my entire life and only been to the Grand Canyon once...my junior year in high school. But I am sure you are enjoying the weather right now. It's perfect!
