Happy 1st Birthday to Jackson!

Seriously, how could a year already have gone by since I had my baby? Time just seems to keep speeding up. Jackson is obsessed with fans, specifically ceiling fans. So since he is only 1 and had no idea that it was his birthday, we just tied balloons on the ceiling fan and had cupcakes. He was thrilled. I wasn't exhausted from planning a big party...win, win I would say.

We bought him a $2 foam fan. Best money I ever spent. He can touch it and hold it. He loves it.

The card and $1 bill for turning 1 from Grandpa and Grandma Wilkins

I attempted a photo shoot to get a good 1 year old shot. I pretty much failed and think I will just bribe my talented sister Rachel to take some when we are in Utah.

Jackson is such a momma's boy. He really is quite attached. He will tolerate and even be happy to be with Dad, as long as he isn't tired or hungry. If he is tired or hungry and he can't find his momma, he will let Jon have it. Like this week in church when I was supposed to teach sharing time and Jon was holding him in the hall. He screamed, not cried, but screamed the whole time. By the time my 20 minute lesson was done, he was hysterical, gasping for breath. As soon as I scooped him up, he immediately stopped as if nothing was wrong, cuddled up on my shoulder and stuck his little thumb in his mouth. He is stubborn and doesn't give up easily, he is very persistent with what he wants. Hopefully that will be a good trait later in life?
Jackson is a joy to have in our family. He loves his sisters, and thinks it is super fun to take a bath with them. Lately anytime he hears anyone say "yay" he immediately stops what he is doing and starts clapping. It is quite endearing. He really loves the song "the Itsy Bitsy Spider" and attempt to do the actions. He is a speedy crawler, and he is working on standing by himself. He is very happy when we let him climb the stairs, but hates to go down the stairs backwards like he is supposed to. He loves being outside, even when it is 100 degrees. He will sit at the back door and just kneel looking out and pat his little hands on the window. He is still my cuddly boy and occasionally will give me a random open mouthed kiss/slobber on the cheek when he is happy with me. His newest tricks are blowing kisses, waving, and pointing at everything. He loves people and will smile and "talk" to them all day long as long as he is safe in his mother's arms. He loves to crawl through his sisters play tents and tunnels, and is thrilled when people will crawl around with him. He often will crawl at me at full speed and then nuzzle his head into me, to show his delight that I am crawling around with him. He is a little mischievous and thinks it is funny when we tell him no. Like when we say "no, no, don't put your finger in the socket, Jacks" he will smile a naughty little smile looking directly at us and go right ahead and put his finger in the socket. It is crazy, my girls never did that. I would tell them no and they would listen. He is boy through and through. He loves loud noises. When my girls were babies they would run from the vacuum, but he runs towards it and won't leave it alone while I vacuum, so I usually end up doing it when he is asleep because he is always in the way. He also loves to imitate the sound of the blender or the kitchen aid and loves to be in my arms when they are going so he can watch them work.
He eats like a boy too. He eats so much and constantly. His favorite foods are yogurt, grapes, and beans.
He says a few words: momma, dadda, hot, no, fan, more
Signs: eat, please, thank you, more, and all done.
Happy birthday to my sweet busy little boy.
