Yesterday was Addie's Rainbow party. Addie just loved to help me make decorations and prepare. I flipped out a little the morning of the party when I knocked a bunch of glass containers off my pantry shelf while trying to get down some platters. There was glass everywhere! Even after sweeping and vacuuming I still found some in my foot. So I vacuumed again. I really didn't have time for that, but luckily Jon's family showed up right after and helped me cut and arrange the fruit and veggie platters.I think the kids that came had a good time. Their favorite game was the treasure hunt that Jon planned to find the gold (chocolate gold coins) at the end of the rainbow. Below is a picture of them playing "musical colors" just like musical chairs, but they had to sit on colored dots.
The rainbow food was super fun to put together. The layered jello was the most time consuming, and it was too much jello for most of the kids, so if I did it again, I would skip that...even though they were super cool looking. One of Addie's little friends looked at his and said, "Wow, that is awesome". That was the reaction I was looking for, but I think I would still skip it. Ready for picture overload?
