Christmas is coming the goose is getting fat...

December is just flying by. I can't believe we are half way through and so close to Christmas already. We are enjoying the fun things our new town does for Christmas. They had a fun little parade where my kids got lots of candy. Apparently they ran out half way through, but we were at the very beginning of the route, so we were spoiled. It felt like Halloween all over again...seriously we had like a whole lot of candy...and one tooth brush from a local dentist. :)
The parade was definitely small town and super cold, but I love parades for some reason. The part the kids liked best was when it started snowing as Santa came by in his sleigh. It was kind of magical.
That evening Jon's work had their Christmas party for the kids and they had a lot of one on one time with Santa, and got to have two sleigh rides pulled by these beautiful Belgian horses.
And we finished out the night with the Chocolate Walk. We walked around Old Town and went in all the little touristy shops and at each stop they give you a homemade chocolate treat. Then we were supposed to vote for our favorite, but it took us so long that we didn't try any until we got home that night. But some of them were really good. And it was fun to go in all the shops, because a majority of them I had never been to.
Addie is loving preschool and is making tons of new friends. She delights in having friends over for playdates. The other day her and her new friend were out looking at the fish we put in our pond. And there was a thin layer of ice on the pond and they ate some of the ice. I really hope they don't get sick. Pond water is super nasty. I also hope our fish live through the winter. We put 15 goldfish in our pond and I have only had to flush 1. I think that is pretty good so far. Now I am not sure how many the birds or racoons may have gotten, but I think we still have a good bunch alive in there.
Grace is such a cute feisty little thing. She is really talking up a storm. But she still hates people other than her immediate family. Nursery is a nightmare. Jon and I both have demanding callings and we really can't have her with us or go with her to nursery. But she crys so hard she hyperventilates. It is so sad that most people don't get to see what a cute sweet girl she is. Grace loves babies and calls most little people "baby". At play group she kept trying to hold a cute little boy's hand and said, "hi baby" over and over. He wasn't as excited about her...but it was really funny. She is also in love with the moon. She loves finding the moon in the sky while I sing to her before bed, she searches for it in books, she talks about the moon all the time. I wish you could hear her say moon. It sounds so cute the way she says it.
Almost done with Christmas presents. I have one homemade one left and a few odds and ends to pick up. Now I just have to pray hard it doesn't snow next weekend so we can make the drive to Utah!
