Very Late Holiday Wrap Up

Better late than never though right? We didn't get home from our vacationing until last Saturday. But since then I have been so sick. I used like 2 boxes of kleenex in the last 3 days all by myself. I haven't had a voice all weekend....and since I am pregnant there is no relief to be found in the form of a little magic pill. It is no fun. I finally got a little sleep last night though and so instead of napping during Addie's nap today I have time to post a little sampling of our holidays.First off, right before we left for the holidays, Addie went to the eye doctor and they said one of her eyes is starting to cross a little bit again (she had surgery on her eyes at 5 months for this problem). Anyways they are hoping that a year of wearing glasses will fix it. So here is my little cutie with her new glasses. Unfortunately, the excitement shown in this picture taken right after we got them, has worn off quickly. It is quite a task to get her to keep them on all day.
Luckily nice uncle Mark and her Dad played with Addie in the snow, because I don't really like playing in the snow. Addie was a little disappointed when we first got to Utah because the snow was "hard snow", apparently not how she had imagined it. But we got a good snow storm or two while we were there so she got to experience the nice soft snow too, and she seemed to like it. Christmas Eve activities included our family "Shepherd's dinner", where we sit on the floor and eat shepherd like food and pretend we were the shepherds on that night before the angel appeared to them to announce Christ's birth. After that we always act out the Nativity. Below is Addie featured as Mary. She was asking to play the part from the time she arrived at Grandma's until Christmas Eve and would sing "Mary's Lullaby" from the primary songs for you to prove she deserved it. In the end, we compromised and there were two Mary's. Katie was the Mary who rode the donkey to Bethlehem, and Addie was the Mary who rocked the baby Jesus and sang him a lullaby. It worked quite nicely.
Christmas morning Addie was the center of attention, since all her cousins were doing Christmas morning at their own houses. It was fun to see her light up when she saw the bike Santa brought. After Christmas we took a little time to do some cross country skiing, which is always enjoyable. And we also went to a great New Year's Eve party at Jon's cousin's house in Salt Lake. They have this disco floor that really lights up to the beat of the music. It was a kid magnet...I couldn't pull Addie away from it. You can see here that she decided to just lay down on it when she got tired instead of getting off the floor.
We had a great time in Utah, but I can't say we were too sad to come back to 70 degree weather. Anyone need a break from the cold? We love visitors!

Such a bummer that you can't medicate while pregnant! They really need to figure a way around that one.
Glad to see that Christmas and New Year's were a success. Addie looks as darling as ever!
