My little Addie is a sensitive gal. She is sensitive to loud or unfamiliar noises. She is sensitive to smells (I know where she gets that one from though). She is so funny when other people are emotional. Whether they are in person or on TV, she will turn to me and say, "Momma, why is that girl sad?" I will try my best to explain why I think that person is sad and if she doesn't fully get it or like my explanation, she will turn back and look me straight in the face and say, "Can we talk about it some more." It is so endearing that she really wants to understand people. She is super observant, so this happens frequently. Fast and testimony meeting at church is funny because she will say over and over, "Why are they crying? What is wrong with everyone? Why are they all so sad today?" Explaining this during sacrament meeting is a task and like always she won't let it rest until she understands the emotions. She is equally as relentless when I am sad. She wants to understand completely why and then she will give me hugs and kisses until I feel better. That part I really love. That part I don't love are the extreme temper tantrums and emotional fits that I am sure are also a result of her sensitive nature.

Well the other day, we watched Monsters Inc. together for the first time. She has just started to have the attention span for full length films like that, although I still have to explain most of it to her as we watch. Well she got really into it, and near the end when Baby Boo has to go back to her room and Sulley has to say good bye to her and leave her, I looked over at her and her big eyes were welled up with tears. She had the saddest little expression on her face. I had never seen her cry like that before...because she was feeling the emotions portrayed by someone else. It was so cute. I really don't know where all her sensitivity/sweetness came from, but I sure love her for it.

She is such a sweetie...can't wait to see her!
Addie and Luke sound like they are cut from the same mold. I just read a really good book a while ago called The Highly Sensitive Child. I think its a blessing and sometimes a challenge to have these sensitive little souls! Hope you're doing well!
Awww. What sweet little girl!
What a sweet girl! How crazy to understand what's going on so well at that age. We just got Monsters Inc. this week too, how funny :)
That is so sweet!
