Life updates and one silly girl

I feel like I haven't updated in forever! As soon as Jon finished classes last month, we moved into a new town house. Then a week later, moved for the summer for an internship, so it has been a little crazy. But we are settled now and Jon is liking his internship.

Addie and I are trying to survive the heat. Addie's skin hates the heat. She always gets heat rash and it takes forever to go away. I feel so bad for her, because it is really hot here. Our trick is to get up really early (which isn't hard because they don't do daylight savings time, so it is light at like 5am) and get all our errands and playing outside done before 9am. It is just too hot after that to get into the car. So the rest of the day we have to be creative with inside games.

Here is Addie at the park at 7:30am. It was lovely outside at that time. She has also been enjoying sidewalk chalk on the covered porch when it is too hot to be in the sun.

Addie is just a happy gal here with so many fun people to play with. I think she will be sad when she goes back to life with just me. Today she was doing something cute (she usually is), and I told her that I love 2 year-olds because they are so smart and funny and that I wanted to keep her 2 forever. She turned an inquisitive face to me and said, "Mom, am I going to grow up?" Sadly I admitted "Yes you will." She held up two chubby fingers and said, "I am two, how old are you Mommy?" "I am 28," I replied. With a look of shock on her face she exclaimed, "Oh my gosh!"

She keeps us laughing and talks a mile a minute...unless she is in front of someone she doesn't know, then she pretends like she doesn't know how to talk....silly girl.

That's funny! She is such a smart little girl! Good job being so creative for the heat. We don't have AC, so I got William a water gun, and he squirts himself to keep him cool :)

I'm glad you have such a companion and conversationalist in Addie during these "law school years". So, come to Utah already. It is a cool (to you a freezing) 70 degrees these days.
