We have been busy this month, I can't believe it is almost over. March just flew by for us. I am in charge of the additional RS Meetings for our ward. We put on a fun and simple Relief Society Birthday party a few weeks ago. We focused on simplicity and our theme was "Returning to Simpler Times". We had soups and yummy salads with homemade rolls and fresh strawberry lemonade. It was delicious. Instead of traditional cake we opted to stay with our old fashioned theme and do cobblers. It was a delicious choice. We played a fun jeopardy game about the history of the RS and other RS trivia. It was fun for all, except the ladies that can't hear that were sitting in the back. Next time I need a mic.
This is our friend Cooper, sadly they only have a few more weeks living across the street from us. His dad got a job as a doctor in Provo (hooray for them). So they will move away just like all our friends here do. My kids are not going to know what to do with themselves when they don't have friends to ride bikes with every afternoon.
I cut all Jacks hair off the other day, and then I was really sad I did. All the sudden he looks 5 years old. Stop growing up! I want to freeze time, he is in my very favorite stage.
These two! They are either the best of friends or fighting and bugging each other, luckily this moment was a cute best of friends one.
Cooking:
When I was little, I would try to wake up earlier than all of my siblings on Saturday mornings because that was the day that my dad would make waffles. If we were the first to wake up and come to help him, we got to mix the egg whites. Which he had taught us, if we whipped long enough would turn into "ghosty" because the beaters would leave eye looking indentations in the stiff whites. It was really exciting as kids to whip the gooey egg whites long enough that they turned into something stiff and ghostlike, it seemed like magic to us. And it is just as exciting to my kids, because when I make waffles they come running to help whip "ghosty". Today Jacks would not stand being put down, so I plopped him on the counter to start teaching him how to help make waffles. He loved it. I always think babies are too young to start helping, but he was so good. The first picture is when he sampled the flour, haha.
