It's Official, she is a Kindergartener

Really I can't believe that Addie is old enough to be in Kindergarten. Here they have all day Kindergarten as well, which is just so long for little 5 year olds. Grace and I dropped her off this morning and it was definitely bittersweet. She was so excited, but needed a few extra hugs when she realized we really were just leaving her there all day.

Grace had the hardest time of us all, she cried as I took her home and when I tried to cheer her by telling her it was park day with our friends, she just stuck out her pouty lip and said, "I don't want to go to the park without my Addie sister". Poor girl, she kept asking where Addie was and then answering her own question.

I was just so excited for Addie. I did get a little teary eyed as we left her at school, because I realized she will now be in school until she is grown up. But she was so excited it was hard to be sad. We picked her up from the bus this afternoon and she looked a little dazed, but I think it was just a super long day for her. She sat right down at the table and told Grace, "I have homework to do, I will play with you in a bit." I just laughed because she was so serious about it, and she didn't really have homework, but wanted to get ahead by learning all her sight words. Overall it seems like it was a successful day.
