I asked what she wanted for dinner for her special day, she said "Pinkalicious cupcakes." That is about right, she isn't a dinner eater, usually it is just a glass of milk.
Grace is a big daddy's girl and she asks for him multiple times a day. Then she will answer her own inquiry and say, "he is at work." When he gets home she is a happy little girl. When I get mad at her or tell her she did something bad, she will say (in a very offended tone) "I want my daddy" and then find a place to pout. Daddy is definitely the softy around here, and she knows it.
She came down with a nasty little cold bug this week and it has totally thrown her off and made her not want to nap or sleep this week. Monday I had to sing her to sleep for both her nap and her bedtime. She just laid there looking up at me with her huge blue eyes and listen until she finally couldn't fight it anymore and those big eyes slowly closed. It was very sweet and cute, but time consuming. So yesterday when I told her it was nap time, she responded, "I don't nap anymore." Ha! Stinker...she is not allowed to give up her nap at 2 years old. But true to her word (she is a stubborn one), she stood up in her crib for more than an hour just leaning on the side sucking her thumb and repeating, "Mommy take me out!" So finally I did, she won. Today we played so hard, that even though she told me again that she doesn't nap anymore, she still fell asleep when I put her down. I hope she gets over this phase quick...like by this weekend because she is going to live with Grandma for 8 days while Jon and I play in Tahiti.
