Jon never gets steak because I don't cook it often, so he was very happy...this picture captures his emotion about right.
Here he is modeling his new backpack. It is the biggest one I have ever seen...which isn't evident from this picture, but trust me. It fits his huge laptop and like 4 or 5 law school books. And law school books are big and boring. It was exactly what he needed and wanted.
I don't have a picture of him blowing out candles, because that actually never happened. See in our house we don't love cake...so even on birthday's, which cake has the corner market on, we don't usually indulge. Instead I made him a delicious Raspberry and Peach crumble (kind of like a cobbler but better). So I was thinking, "this should be eaten warm with vanilla ice cream on top", so only minutes after pulling it out of the oven I proceeded to put 27 candles in instead of letting it cool. Those of you that are smarter, or at least quicker than I was that day, will realize the problem right away with this brilliant plan. I, however, was having one of those days, so I didn't realize until I repositioned one and saw the pool of blue wax. First I flipped out, and then I had a good laugh while I spooned most of the wax out. Jon just laughed at his silly wife, because he is much smarter than that. It was most delicious anyways!
Happy Birthday to the best husband/father there is! We love you babe.

I am not HUGE on the cake thing either -- so your dessert sounded absolutely Delicious!!! Glad he was excited for the backpack -- amazing what we now get excited about for our birthdays - much more useful stuff I would say!!!
You are a lovely little wife to Jon. No wonder he is smiling.
Yes Maurine! I saw your picture in that barn! How funny. I was like, "That's Maurine. I know her!" I wondered if it was your family's church-barn. That is funny though- small world.
I cannot believe how much your little girl looks like a Wilkins. I remember your cute brother Richard- who was probably a baby when I saw him last when we did soccer together soooo long ago- she reminds me of him back then. So cute!
I'm glad you said hi. I'll add you to my list!
